This is a guide to migrate your saves from non-steam game to Steam.
A) SOURCE FILES
First of al you must locate the saves you want to migrate. They can be in the unepic/save folder or in the appdata/roaming/unepic/save.
You may find:
To check that you are copying the right file, the best is to see the modification date of that file. They must be the same than the last time you played Unepic and saved it.
B) CREATE BED SAVE FILES
Before copying the saves to the Steam version, in the Steam version you must create a character in the same slots that in the non-steam version.
When copying the file IT MUST OVERWRITE the character you created.
This is because Unepic must first activate a cloud for this file.
So, if you have 3 characters (slot1, slot2 and slot3) for single player and 2 characters (slot1 and slot2) for multiplayer mode, then create 3 characters for single player and 2 characters for multiplayer in the Steam version. No matter the name or difficulty, as they will be overwritten.
C) STEAM FILES
Third task is to locate the folder where the saves of the Steam version are saved.
As Unepic use the "clouding" service of Steam, files are not in the "unepic/save" folder, but in the c:/program files/steam/userdata/(a number numero)/(another number)/remote/save/
Best is to use the search engine of Windows in the "c:/program files/steam" folder.
Once you find the folder, you will see the game_0.sav and others that you have previously created in step B.
D) OVERWRITTING FILES
- Close the Steam Client
- Copy all .SAV files from the source folder and paste them in the steam folder overwritting in all cases.
- open the Steam Client again.
